ASTROLOGY REPORT
FOR SEPTEMBER 2010

September is a dynamic month, highlighted by two planetary stations and a very rare and potent Full Moon alignment with the Equinox. As five planets are retrograde, including Mercury, there is much behind the scenes activity that may manifest after these planets turn direct. The Cardinal Climax pattern is still in full force until early October.

The month begins with Venus in Libra in a graceful trine aspect with Neptune on September 4. This aspect brings a dreamy, soulful type of energy to any relationship encounters. It gives the potential to blend romance with mystical yearnings, along with enhancing creativity and idealism.

The New Moon will occur on September 8 at 16 Virgo. This is the second of three Super Moons that bring larger magnetic energy forces to our planet, which can result in increased earth changes and more volatile human emotions. This lunation is widely aligned with Mercury in Virgo, further emphasizing the Mercury retrograde period from August 20 to September 12. Virgo themes include working with detail, analysis, research, discrimination and discernment, along with nutrition and healing. Mercury will be in Virgo over two months, giving us plenty of time to restructure or release what is not needed in some area of our lives. We could also clean out a few drawers or closets and set up some file systems. Doing an outer activity can often stimulate an inner process. The Sabian symbol for this lunation degree is "a direct confrontation with the 'wild' power of primordial nature within oneself." Virgo is also an earth sign, reminding us of our inherent connection with the forces of nature. How can we better express our own personal power in our daily lives? What in nature can remind us of that connection?

On this same day, Jupiter retrogrades back into Pisces, remaining there until January 2011. Jupiter co-rules Pisces, which represents the more subtle dimensions, along with the attributes of oneness, idealism and compassion. We can use this remaining cycle for spiritual practices or journal writing or perhaps to do some volunteer work for the community. The next day Mars aligns with Neptune, providing more energy for our humanitarian and spiritual pursuits.

Mercury turns direct on September 12 at 5 Virgo, allowing us to move forward again with more momentum. A day later, Pluto turns direct at 3 Capricorn. The harmonious trine between Mercury and Pluto has given this retrograde period a deeper quality, helping us to emerge with a clearer picture of our priorities and life direction. On the following day, Mars enters Scorpio, adding sensitivity, depth and power to help accomplish goals.

On September 18 Jupiter aligns with Uranus, at 29 Pisces, for the second of three times. This series began on June 8 in Aries and will finish next January 4 in Pisces. This aspect is connected to the Cardinal Climax pattern that began forming in late May when Uranus entered Aries. Along with sudden changes and breakthroughs, there will also be more receptivity to progressive ideas and humanitarian impulses at this time. This will be an excellent period for journaling or keeping track of intuitive or inspirational messages and imagery. The Mars/Pluto sextile the same day can provide opportunities for productive new directions.

The Autumn Equinox in Libra occurs on September 22, followed by the Full Moon on September 23 at 0 Aries. This Full Moon is also in alignment with the Galactic Center, around which our Milky Way galaxy orbits, in addition to the four outer planets of the Cardinal Climax pattern (Pluto, Uranus, Saturn and Jupiter). The combination of all of these cosmic forces coming together is a rare, powerful and transformative event. Since this lunation occurs on the world degree, we can expect earth changes and potentially world-changing events. Aries themes include leadership, pioneering, taking initiative and being independent. This Full Moon period will be in range from September 21, when the sun opposes Jupiter/Uranus, to September 30, when the sun conjuncts Saturn and squares the nodes.

The Sabian symbol for the Aries moon degree suggests "the emergence of new forms and of the potentiality of consciousness." The symbol for the Libra sun degree suggests "the immortal archetypal reality that a perfect and dedicated life reveals." Cardinal signs initiate change on fundamental levels. We are like the Aries pioneers in this world of evolving new realities and we each have an important role to play. What calls forth our sense of dedication and adventure? Can we release old outworn patterns while opening to new forms and potentials? Saturn in Libra reminds us that joining with like-minded others will support us on this path.

The moon's south node in Cancer represents the missing element in the Cardinal Climax pattern and can indicate what qualities are needed to bring us back into balance. Cancer represents our foundation and how we nurture and care for ourselves. Self-healing is part of our care and can take many forms. I have found that one of the most effective and gentle is energy medicine, which includes homeopathy, flower remedies and EFT. EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) has proven to be very effective, works quickly, and is simple and inexpensive to learn. It works by a method of self-tapping on certain acupuncture meridian points while using clearing statements. You can read more about EFT through books and websites by Donna Eden, David Feinstein, Gary Craig and Nick Ortner. Gary Craig's website, www.eftuniverse.com, offers a free newsletter and other material.

October highlights include Venus turning retrograde and another Venus/Mars conjunction -- this time in Scorpio. Blessings for a productive and prosperous autumn!
